Created in 2003, Rede Brasil reports to the Global Compact headquarters in New York and chairs the Council of Local Networks in Latin America. The projects conducted in the country are developed through the Action Platforms (Action for Water, Action for Sustainable Agribusiness, Action for Human Rights, Action for Climate, Action against Corruption, Action for the SDGs and Action to Communicate and Engage) and International Programs. About 40 initiatives are currently underway, involving hundreds of companies, as well as UN agencies and government agencies.
There is an increasing involvement of Brazilian companies around sustainability and a growing maturity in relation to the subject. Not long ago, many thought that it was enough to support a project in the vicinity of their units to fulfill their social role.
